Binghamton University enrolls about 14,500 students in programs leading to bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. The University consists of Harpur College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, the College of Community and Public Affairs, the School of Management, the Decker School of Nursing, and the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science. The Graduate School administers advanced-degree programs in these schools, but both our undergraduate and graduate students are taught by the same outstanding faculty. Job Description:
Budget Title: Staff Associate (SL-4) Salary: $49,372 - $60,000, commensurate with experience Administer and develop Watson School continuing education programs that capitalize on the School's faculty expertise and support the strategic needs of industry. Oversee the School's distance education program and facilities and expand the use of distance education technologies to deliver academic programs and course offerings to students, alumni, and industry. Develop policies and procedures related to continuing education and distance education. Hire and evaluate faculty and staff for continuing education programs. Responsible for administration of continuing education programs, including but not limited to registration, financial and academic records, issuance of credits, and associated transcripts. Supervise support staff. Ensure compliance with all applicable University and State rules and regulations. Represent the Watson School at conferences and meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree highly preferred
- Experience designing and delivering continuing education programs in engineering, computer science, or other technical field
- Experience in conference planning, accreditation, distance learning and multi-media communications, and computer-based training
- Knowledge of, and experience responding to, trends in continuing, professional, and distance education, particularly in engineering and computer science professions and disciplines
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing business proposals and marketing plans
- Experience in developing and managing operational budgets
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others and to work successfully as part of a team
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed
